Jackets, gloves and some scarves are making their way into the school yard – the mornings are a little chilly and that means autumn has arrived! The kindergarteners have spent time working with their grade 6 buddies on several activities, the grades 1s & 2s visited Verger Labonté to investigate apples and pumpkins and the grade 3s & 4s are working hard preparing for our Remembrance Day assembly by learning about courage and citizenship. Our daycare has been busy with their theme of ‘The 5 Senses’!
Outdoor education classes are enjoying the crisp, fall weather and are looking ahead to the fun-filled winter season. In physical education, our Cycle 3’s have participated in our LBPSB tourneys such as Handball, Ultimate Frisbee and our grades 4, 5 & 6 students are looking ahead to the annual Sr. Cross Country Run over at the Morgan Arboretum. Music classes have been busy exploring musical pieces and getting their minds and body ready for violin lessons in class (for the grades 3-6). And play practices for our spring performances of “Anything Goes: Young Performers’ Edition” are underway with Ms. Jen, Ms. Ashley and their dedicated crew of staff that help in all areas of production throughout the school year.
Be sure to check out our Facebook page as we will continue to post many of the activities and daily goings-on at school. The monthly calendar has all of the school events posted, from Home & School fundraiser lunches, field trips, as well as all of the evening meetings that our parent community is always welcome to attend. The Interim Report Card will be available on the Fusion Parental Portal on October 15th while on November 19th, the term 1 Report Cards will be available on Fusion. Parents should be circling November 21st & 22nd on their calendar – our term 1 parent-teacher interviews → parents will be able to sign up to meet teachers in mid-November. As a reminder, November 15th (daycare CLOSED) and November 29th (daycare OPEN) are PD days.
