We welcomed 2019 with a snowy chill - a little more ice in the yard than necessary – and an early February Snow Day brought more snow for our traditional hill in the middle of the school yard! And the activities continued inside the St. Pat’s walls with Robotics for Cycle 3, Phys. Ed. intramural of Omnikin and a ton of extra-curricular opportunities for everyone! There was much going on this winter with Coding seminars for our senior students, field trips for our Cycle 1 students to the Science Centre, and the annual grade 6 volleyball tournament at John Abbott College and we hosted the LBPSB Basketball Tourney for participating grade 6 students.
A huge ‘THANK YOU’ to our Home & School Association and all our amazing parents and students for an awesome “Staff Appreciation Week” that we celebrated together in February. We are blessed to be a part of such a warm and generous school community that flourishes with real collaboration and support between each home and our school! The grade 6 K.I.C.K. students are busy with their fundraisers – this year the students have really gone far and beyond in supporting their cause and making a difference – their citizenship and collaboration is inspiring! Be sure to check out the schools’ Facebook page with weekly updates of great things going on all around St. Pat’s!
We’re packing in a ‘ton of fun’ from now until our March Break to help us keep warm and stay active during these long, cold winter days. Several Cycle 3 students represented St. Pat’s at the 7th annual Junior Leadership Day, an exciting LBPSB initiative where over 340 students from all of our elementary schools participated in leadership sessions facilitated by our very own LBPSB high school leadership students over at Mac High. The energy is electric and it never seems to slow down!
What an unbelievable start to the 2019 calendar year!
