May & June are Packed with Activity

The final term of our 2016-17 school year is well underway and each grade level is experiencing tons of activities and learning opportunities throughout St. Pat’s. The grades 1 and 2 students will meet with a children’s author for their Culture in the Schools activity called ‘Littérature pour la jeunesse’. Our grade 3 students will visit an Iroquoian Village as an extension of their univers social lessons. Our kindergarten and grade 4 classes are working hard at preparing a Mother’s Day Tea. The grade 5’s are off to PCHS to participate in their annual Indoor Soccer Tourney and our ‘Class of 2017’ grade 6 graduates were visiting high schools during their Mini Day and participated in the annual Basketball Tourney which was hosted in the St. Pat’s gym during the month of April.

The grade 5’s are gearing up for their annual trip to Quebec City in June and our Phys. Ed. department is planning to attend many LBPSB athletic tournaments in the months ahead including the Jr. Cross Country Run and Track & Field to name but a few! Things are always heating up at St. Pat’s. Don’t forget the Home & School Spring Dance that will be held at the end of May and we are already getting all the paper work done for the annual Swimming Day activities at our local pool.

Ms. Mary and her daycare staff are glad to present our 2nd annual “Art Gala” - our talented students have been working hard creating amazing masterpieces to share with our St. Pat’s community. Our Daycare students have put their talents to the test painting, drawing, using different techniques and skills and have come up with some very original art pieces once again this year. The entire school community is welcome to come and celebrate their hard work on Thursday, May 25th from 4:00-6:00pm in our school cafeteria!

A special thanks to Ms. Jen, Ms. Ashley and their staff crew for all the rehearsing and preparing with our students who performed ‘Annie Jr’ on the St. Pat’s stage in April. The students were TRULY AMAZING – such a dedicated group of grades 3 through 6 students who have been practicing and working since early fall. They performed two matinees for their fellow students and held an evening performance that was nearly sold out! Our students never cease to amaze their audiences – the arts are ALIVE at St. Pat’s!

Keep checking out the Principal’s Blog, our school’s Facebook page and the Photo Gallery for more amazing moments that are happening throughout the hallways, classrooms and activities at St. Patrick Elementary School.

Spring is in full swing and we are taking in every moment as we round out our school year in style!
