Spring is in the Air @ St. Pat’s

With the winter season slowly melting away, we all look around for signs of spring: a little more pavement in the school yard, new leaves and grass turning the soccer pitch and trees a shade of green and ‘pear-balls’ finally return to recess and lunchtime at St. Pat’s! In a very short time we will welcome all parents and students to walk the halls and check out the classrooms during our March 30th “Celebration of Learning” from 5-7pm. Come and see many of the projects and learning activities that have occurred during this school year – be sure to walk into all of the classes during this school community event. Ms. Mary is planning on hosting the 2nd annual “Daycare Art Gala” in May – more details on this amazing event will be posted in the weeks to come!

Our extra-curricular drama students are off to Lindsay Place in the month of March to enjoy a high school production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’. And be sure to mark your calendars as Ms. Jen, Ms. Ashley and their staff crew keep rehearsing and preparing with our students who will be performing in ‘Annie Jr’ on the St. Pat’s stage on Thursday, April 13th in the evening. Information on ticket sales will be available prior to the show – please contact the school office for more information.

The cycle 1 students are heading off to the Montreal Science Centre in early spring and the grade 5’s are gearing up for their annual trip to Quebec City in June. The Phys. Ed. team are planning to attend many LBPSB athletic tournaments in the months ahead including the Jr. Cross Country Run, Indoor Soccer @ PCHS and Track & Field to name but a few. Things are always heating up at St. Pat’s! We look also look forward to the Omnikin finals – a terrific cross-grade level lunchtime activity where students and staff compete together in the gym.

We enjoyed a terrific Winter Carnival before the March Break and returned from that week of rest with a tremendous St. Paddy’s Day assembly full of fun, activities, dancing and great times. Our students, staff and our many parent volunteers have worked hard to create an atmosphere of great spirit during all of these amazing school-wide events!

Keep checking out the Principal’s Blog, our school’s Facebook page and the Photo Gallery for more amazing moments that are happening throughout the hallways, classrooms and activities at St. Patrick Elementary School.

The months ahead are full of learning and activities for every student in every grade!
