Dear Parents and Families of St. Patrick Elementary,
On behalf of the entire staff at St. Patrick Elementary, we would like to thank you for your ongoing support throughout a most challenging school year. Our school team and parent community united during this pandemic and collaborated while constantly adapting to many new realities connected to learning. Together we found success and supported our students – your children. A final ‘Thank You!’ to all of our parent volunteers – from classroom and library support, field trips and special activities, our Governing Board, our amazing Home & School Committee members and so much more – your commitment and involvement at St. Pat’s makes this one special community school!
Please note that the school office will be closed as of Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 at 2:00pm. We will be back in full gear on Monday, August 10th, 2020, when our school office reopens after the summer break.
The 2020-21 school calendar is uploaded on this website. As of now, the Curriculum Night is scheduled for early September. We will update our parents following the summer break with any new information about our return to school. Classes resume for all of our students on Monday, August 31st, 2020. Our Kindergarteners will follow a ‘staggered entry’ and parents will receive a letter outlining how our newest students begin their school year in mid-August.
It has been another successful school year, even though it was turned upside-down rather abruptly in mid-March. It will not be a year we soon forget, as a school community and across the globe. We want to again thank all of you for all of your amazing support during the 2019-2020 school year. We look forward to anew under more recognizable circumstances when we all return at the end of the summer!
Yours most sincerely,
Mr. Rabinovitch, Principal Mme Paquette, Vice Principal
As we close the book on a most unusual school year, a moment to pause and reflect upon many terrific events from 2019-20. We celebrated our Class of 2020 – a very different graduation ceremony that included heartfelt congratulations to all of our grade 6’s and their families. Our kindergarten team welcomed many of our newest students in a 'K' Drive-thru Orientation. The year was filled with amazing field trips, guest speakers, assemblies, tournaments, extra-curricular activities, Home & School events, volunteers and creative learning across every grade. The final weeks of the year saw our team create an excellent online learning platform that allowed our teachers, support staff and students to study together while away from school. We came together and found success as we worked through a very challenging spring season.
To say I am honoured to have been a part of our tremendous St. Pat’s community would be a massive understatement. The past six years have been a tremendous learning opportunity for me as your principal and I am proud to have been able to share in so many milestones that have been celebrated during this time. Our students and school are in terrific hands as Mme Paquette will return as the vice principal, supported by an amazing staff team when we return to school in August. It is also my pleasure to welcome Mme Dominique Daoust as the new principal of St. Patrick Elementary. Mme Daoust has worked in schools for the last 29 years both in the French Immersion system in Canada and in the international school system overseas. She leads school teams with the purpose to help students become inquisitive, engaged, masterful and autonomous learners who contribute to making the world a better place. She is thrilled to join our dynamic St. Patrick school community and looks forward to meeting everyone in August.
Be sure to check the newly updated school Calendar making note of all the important dates in 2020-21. The School Supplies list for 2020-21 has also been uploaded to the website. Our Facebook Page has new pics from the past few weeks and be sure to check it out for updates and ‘sneak peeks’ into a day at St. Patrick Elementary!
