Winter @ St. Pat's!

As we enjoy the winter season with outdoor education and fun times at recess and lunch, we’re also warming up inside with tons of learning activities, guest speakers and field trips, as well as intramurals for the senior grades. Our students are heading outside for outdoor education, taking in some skiing and snowshoeing, and enjoying all the physical activity that comes back to St. Pat’s each winter season. Our grade 6 “Class of 2017” will head out to Jouvence this term for their grad trip – what an awesome way to connect students as they participate in so many team-building activities.

The kindergarten students will welcome many cute animal guests to our school this month as the Ecomuseum will share two days at St. Pat’s, bringing nature into our school. January is also “Literacy Week” and the teachers from each grade level have organized many amazing reading activities which include peer-reading and many awesome guest readers – no better way to promote our love for reading. is returning to our school – an amazing school-wide fundraiser supporting the Heart & Stroke Foundation – physical activity with a specific goal in mind! It may be -20°C outside but it’s always ‘sizzling hot’ at St. Pat’s!

Omnikin has rolled and bounced into the St. Pat’s gymnasium – thanks to Ms. Macro and Ms. Clarke - with so many senior students, teachers and staff joining teams for this amazingly fun intramural activity during the lunch hour. The 5th annual Jr. Leadership Day for Cycle 3 takes place on February 10th and with February just around the corner, we look ahead to our annual Winter Carnival during that final week before the March break, with skating and outdoor fun for all grades.

Keep checking out the Principal’s Blog, our school’s Facebook page and the Photo Gallery for more amazing moments that are happening throughout the hallways, classrooms and activities at St. Patrick Elementary School.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: On Thursday, March 30th, St. Patrick Elementary proudly presents our “Celebration of Learning” – a parent evening when our teachers and students will showcase some of their work – a chance for our school community to see all of the amazing things that happen throughout the many months at school. Be sure to book a babysitter for our annual school play on Thursday, April 13th – our senior students are practicing diligently with Ms. Jen and her entire crew in preparation for their performance of “Annie, Jr.” coming to the St. Pat’s stage.

What an unbelievable start to the 2017 calendar year!
