St. Patrick Elementary School
May & June are Jam-Packed with Activity!
The final term of our 2017-18 school year is well underway and we are hosting tons of activities and learning opportunities throughout St. Pat’s. The grades 1 and 2 students will meet with a children’s author for their final Culture in the Schools activity called ‘Storyteller’. Our grade 3 students will visit an Iroquoian Village as an extension of their univers social lessons, while the grade 4s will head over to Morgan Arboretum to learn about Spring Diversity. Our kindergarten and grade 4 classes are working hard at preparing their very own Mother’s Day Tea - quickly becoming an annual event at our school. The grade 5’s headed over to PCHS to participate in the annual Indoor Soccer Tourney and our ‘Class of 2018’ grade 6 graduates participated in the annual Basketball Tourney during the month of April.
The grade 5’s are gearing up for their annual overnight trip, this year heading westward to Gatineau & Ottawa in June and our Phys. Ed. department is planning to attend many LBPSB athletic tournaments in the months ahead including the Jr. Cross Country Run and Track & Field to name but a few! Things are always heating up at St. Pat’s. Don’t forget the Home & School Spring Dance that will be held at the end of May, our Sr. Violin Concert in the weeks ahead and also the grades 3-6 performances in our Cabaret Show right before we close out the school year. We are also getting all the paper work done for the annual Swimming Day activities at our local Pincourt pool.
Our Daycare students have put their talents to the test in many of their after-school activities such as painting, drawing and crafts. The walls of our school are covered with their masterpieces, check out our FB page for pictures from their last theme of activities that focused on space!
A special thanks to Ms. Jen, Ms. Ashley and their staff crew for all the rehearsing and preparing with our students who performed ‘Seussical Jr’ on the St. Pat’s stage in April. The students were AWESOMELY AMAZING – such a dedicated group of grades 3 through 6 students who have been practicing and working since early fall. They performed two matinees for their fellow students and most of the staff and students from Edgewater and also held an evening performance that was nearly sold out! Our students never cease to amaze their audiences – the arts are ALIVE at St. Pat’s!
Keep checking out the Principal’s Blog, our school’s Facebook page and the Photo Gallery for more amazing moments that are happening throughout the hallways, classrooms and activities at St. Patrick Elementary School.
Spring is in full swing and we are taking in every moment as we round out our school year in style!
