Wintertime @ St. Pat’s!

As we enjoy the winter season with outdoor education and fun times at recess and lunch, we’re also warming up inside with tons of learning activities, intramurals for the senior grades, robotics during lunchtime, daycare programs and play practice after school hours. Our students are heading outside for outdoor education, taking in some skiing and snowshoeing, and enjoying all the physical activity that comes back to St. Pat’s each winter season. Our grade 6 “Class of 2018” will head out to Jouvence this term for their annual educational grad trip – what an awesome way to connect students as they participate in so many team-building activities.

January is also when we experience “Literacy Week” at our school and the teachers from each grade level have organized many amazing reading activities which include storytelling, many exciting guest readers and dress-up activities all relating to literacy – no better way to promote our love for reading. It may be -20°C outside (or colder this season!!!) but it’s always ‘sizzling hot’ at St. Pat’s!

The St. Pat’s gymnasium is now running intramurals with many of our senior students, teachers and staff – participating on teams during the lunch hour. The 6th annual Jr. Leadership Day for Cycle 3 takes place on February 9th and with February just around the corner, we look ahead to our annual Winter Carnival during that final week before the March break, with winter activities and outdoor fun for all grades – with the amount of snow that has fallen, we are aiming for one wintery fun carnival this year! Our staff can’t wait for ‘Teacher Appreciation Week’ coming to our school the week of February 5th - 9th, another amazing school community event brought to us by our Home and School Association.

OPEN HOUSE for incoming K’s and new students alike is set for Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 with the official week of New Student Registration taking place from January 29th – February 2nd, 2018. Please contact Ms. Pompeo at the school office to book your registration appointment - details available at our Open House or by calling the school office at 514-453-6351.

Keep checking out the Principal’s Blog, our school’s Facebook page and the Photo Gallery for more amazing moments that are happening throughout the hallways, classrooms and activities at St. Patrick Elementary School.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: On Wednesday, March 28th, St. Patrick Elementary proudly presents our “Celebration of Learning” – a parent evening when our teachers and students will showcase some of their work – a chance for our school community to see all of the amazing things that happen throughout the many months at school. Be sure to book a babysitter for our annual school play on Thursday, April 19th – our senior students are practicing diligently with Ms. Jen, Ms. Ashley and their entire crew in preparation for their performance of “Seussical Jr.” coming to the St. Pat’s stage.

Another outstanding start to the 2018 calendar year!
Mr. Rabinovitch, Principal
