May & June are Jam-Packed with Activity
The final term of the 2018-19 school year is well underway and we are hosting tons of activities and learning opportunities throughout St. Pat’s. The grades 5 and 6 students collaborated with Deirdre Potash (Art Comes to School) on a city-focused grant on the theme of ‘Graphic Novels’. Our grade 3 students will visit an Iroquoian Village as an extension of their univers social lessons, while the grade 5s with head over to Upper Canada Village as well as a day trip to Quebec City. Our kindergarten and grade 4 classes are working hard at preparing their very own Mother’s Day Tea – once again this year it is an annual event not to be missed! Our ‘Class of 2019’ grade 6 graduates participated in the annual Basketball Tourney back during the month of April and our senior students are currently involved in the lunchtime Omniken intra-mural activity. Tons of stuff – so many great things going on!
Our Phys. Ed. department is planning to attend many LBPSB athletic tournaments during the final months including the Jr. Cross Country Run and Track & Field to name but a few! Things are always heating up at St. Pat’s. Don’t forget the Home & School Spring Dance that will be held in early June, our Sr. Violin Concert in the weeks ahead and also the grades 3-6 performances in our Cabaret Show right before we close out the school year. While our local Pincourt Municipal Pool is still under a renovation project, we are looking ahead to a Splash Day activity during the hot days in late June!
Our Daycare students have put their talents to the test in many of their after-school activities such as painting, drawing and crafts. The walls of our school are covered with their masterpieces, check out our FB page for pictures from their last theme of activities that focused on Spring!
A special thanks to Ms. Jen, Ms. Ashley and their staff crew for all the rehearsing and preparing with our students who performed ‘Getting to Know… Once Upon a Mattress’ on the St. Pat’s stage in early May. The students were AWESOMELY AMAZING – such a dedicated group of grades 3 through 6 students who have been practicing and working since October. They performed two matinees for their fellow students and most of the staff and students from Edgewater and also held an evening performance that was nearly sold out! The arts are ALIVE at St. Pat’s – our students were A1 professionals during the play – their confidence, poise and creative skills were OUTSTANDING!
Keep checking out our school’s Facebook page for more amazing moments that are happening throughout the hallways, classrooms and activities at St. Patrick Elementary School.
Spring is (finally) in full swing and we are taking in every moment as we round out our school year in style!
